Lexapro causing White Tongue?

Anyone else ever have this problem? I never used to have this but since I started Lexapro I have always had nice problems with dry mouth. I never really cared because I would just grab a drink and it was fine. Lately, the past 3-4 months, I have noticed that the top of my tongue has a white coating and is very dry. I am thinking this is from the Lexapro as well?

I never really noticed before as I didn't really have a reason to be self conscious.....but now that I'm getting involved in the beginning (don't want to get ahead of myself here) of a relationship, I am definitely self conscious about it.

I have issues with white tongue from dry mouth, too.

I use a mouthwash and toothpaste specifically designed for dry mouth. It helps a LOT. Look in the dental care area of your local store, where anbesol and such are. It's a bit pricey, but well worth it. It's like moisturizer for your tongue. lol Chewing gum increases saliva production, too. I keep a pack of spearmint gum in the car and chew when I'm driving. :)

Occasionally, it has led to some minor infections or trouble swallowing and the doctor prescribed "magic mouthwash" (seriously, that's what the bottle says). It's actually for children when they get thrush. Anyway, it's antibiotic mouthwash with a numbing property and clears things right up. Haven't needed it since I found the over the counter stuff.

Also, rest assured that your girl is probably not paying nearly as much attention to what your tongue looks like as you are. As long as your breath is fresh and your mouth is infection free, you're good. You may be kissing her - but you're probably not sticking your tongue out at her. lol
