I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing this troubling symptom. It is not uncommon with anxiety however, and is often related to improper breathing. When anxious, we often shallow breathe, which causes symptoms similar to hyperventilation (see below from article)
Paresthesias of the hands and feet are common, transient symptoms of the related conditions of hyperventilation syndrome, often open mouth, and panic attacks.

Did you doctor make mention of supplimenting with a B vitamin as well?
