So, some of you may know that I just started taking Celexa 20mg, and xanax. Today is my second day taking them. I haven't been cramping at all, but I just started bleeding "down there" and my period isn't due for another week and a couple days or something. ? Could this be from the pills? Ugh i'm freaking out right now.

I also took ibuprofen today, just 200mg but I looked up the interactions of mixing ibuprofen and Celexa and it says "Moderate"

Mommy didn't you say something about forgetting to take your BC yesterday of day before? You were anticipating taking two to catch up, missing or double dosing either one could possibly be the problem. Peace

Yes but I ended up just taking one. I didn't take two. I missed Sunday, Monday and yesterday I just took one. I don't know if that's the problem or not. I'm scared after reading that you aren't supposed to mix these two together and now I'm bleeding.

So, you don't think this is the "rare side effect" that the leaflet says?

It just freaks me out because so many sites I've looked on say do NOT mix ibuprofen and celexa. That it can cause bleeding.

What they are referring to is a wound or a bad cut, what you are experiencing is a perfectly natural source, "Also you haven't taken Celexa long enough for it to cause that kind of problem".

I wish you would give this med a chance to give you back a normal life, I used xanax for years and still carry it just in case.

I know when I'm in a heightened state of anxiety/panic my cycle will get all messed up. I've been known so bleed for 1or 2 days a week for a couple of weeks. And also when you start a new medication it will take time for your periods and hormones to adjust. My dr told me to quit looking up symptoms on Internet. They aren't always right. Do you remember that commercial? about the girl going out with the French model she found on the Internet? turns out he was old fat and totally not French. The moral was don't believe everything you read on the Internet.

Stress can cause a early cycle and thats true if it aint flowing like a river with trutg there is nothing to worry about. Best of luck to you!

I was up all night...every couple hours having to run to the bathroom. My stomach is cramping and I feel nauseated. But when I did go to the bathroom once, a lot of blood came out. I don't know whether to be worried or not. Last night when I realized i was bleeding, It was like the last day of my period. Just a little bit. Ugh :(

Talked to the nurse... She said that skipping my birth control was the problem. How I missed two days and took one on tuesday..guess I'm just having "breakthrough bleeding" Big relief. *sigh* lol.

I was just going to write you and tell you it was because you missed so many days of your BC. The same thing happened to me years ago when I took the pill.

Glad you feel better now that you talked to the nurse. :)
