Bob,Hello and welcome to HealingWell. I am so sorry you are having issues and I will do my best to advise you.
Electric shock sensations in relation to fibromyalgia are a particularly nasty symptom, giving one the feeling of being wired up to a pulsating electric supply producing jerks and twitches in the body.
The symptoms range from sleeplessness or poor sleep patterns to electric shock symptoms and acute pain in muscles or joints. Fibromyalgia symptoms are numerous. Not everyone has every symptom, and some people may experience many more symptoms than others.
The feelings and causes of fibromyalgia electric shock sensations can be described as like an electric shock traveling through one’s body, sometimes accompanied by a “falling sensation”.
Feels like pins and needles but more painful, alarming and pulsating. Jerks the joints of arms, legs, fingers and toes.
Can come on at any time and is like a flash of light followed by electric shock tingling.
Can happen anytime, anywhere, intermittently and can last for days, weeks or sometimes months. Happens more frequently when stretching ones arms to reach for something up on a high shelf for instance, also when one stands on fully straightened legs or they're on their tip-toes.
Happens when flexing one’s fingers; can cause alarming cracking and give sensation of joint dislocation.
Happens when getting up from sitting on a chair too long, feeling much like a "sleeping leg" but not to be confused with the normal pins and needles feeling experienced after sitting too long.
I am wondering if you are on any medications as Cymbalta appears to be a front runner in helping people with fibromyalgia ? All Resources: Mayo Clinic Staff
I hope this gave you some info re the electric shocks however, I am going to post the link to our Fibro Forum where you will find many members with much wisdom and experience dealing with Fibromyalgia. Remember I am not a physician nor do I have Fibromyalgia but I sure do know a lot about anxiety and depression.

Feel free to post with us anytime here in the A & P forum as it is known that members with chronic medical conditions often have a "duo dx" with anxiety.
Again a Warm Welcome to HW.
