Started Wellbutrin and it's increasing my anxiety

I have panic/ anxiety disorder. I started Wellbutrin about a week ago and it's increasing my anxiety. Does anyone know if this will subside once the medication starts fully working? It says it can take 2-3 weeks. I want my anxiety to get better not worse! I'm currently on cipralex also trying to wean off for a year.. Any help is appreciated smile

M.D.,I am sorry that you are having trouble with your medications. It is surely frustrating to feel more anxious initially, when taking an Rx for anxiety relief!;(

Most A/D meds will build up and level off after the first few weeks, at which time most undesired side effects should start to fade.

If you have any more concerns, talking with your prescribing doctor or pharmacist should put your mind at ease.

I was on this med about 4 years ago. My sister was dying and I was having a really tough time also my other antidepressants always seemed to cause weight gain. I begged my Psychiatrist to please let me try this drug that would not only give me energy but cause weight loss.

After a couple of days on it I was dizzy, walking into walls, easily agitated and in tears because this " great drug" was not performing as I had hoped. So back on another SSRI even if I did carry a few extra pounds I need to be able to drive, walk and talk.

That is my experience and I hope yours is better.
