please help me feel better

I went to the e.r 2 nights ago for chest pain. They did blood work, xray, and ekg. They told me I was fine and my chest wall is inflamed. Well last night I went back because I felt like someone was sitting on my chest and they gave me anxiety medicine. Well tonight I was in bed half asleep and I woke up im fully awake and my arm is like numb and tingly where my elbow is and im sweating. Please tell me this is part of anxiety im new to it and scared. Im trying to keep dostracted but it os so hard to do shakehead

the numbness is in my left arm

Hi tessie, I'm new here as well to the forum :) I am certainly not a Dr but not being new to anxiety/panic/depression I have experienced all of those symptoms. Depending on what medication they gave you for the anxiety, it can take sometimes 4-6 weeks before you feel the full effects of it. My suggestion is just keep aware of symptoms and if they get worse or don't get any better I would go back to ER and definitely follow up with your pcp if you have one.

It seems like we are both in the right place as I've been reading other posts from people here. You're definitely not alone here, hoping you feel better soon and definitely sending some positive vibes your way.

Tes, the symptoms you are presenting with are pretty much normal for PAD. If you read many of the other posts you will think you wrote them. That all being said one of the most difficult things our members have to deal with is accepting all these feelings as anxiety related, I confess its not easy.
You have been cleared by doctors for your health, now its time to work on your mind, this is a condition
not a disease and you can learn to control it with therapy and self help, some use meds also, I did.
Just feel assured that this is not permanent and will not kill you the sooner you accept PAD and get to
work on the issues the sooner you can feel your old self again. Peace

Hi TM and welcome.

I am sorry that you are dealing with all of these scary and confusing symptoms at the moment.

Can I ask if they gave you an explantation in regards to your chest inflamation?

Also, what medicine were you prescribed...and finally, were you told to follow up with your regualr GP, or given a therapy referral, or next step?

Anxiety symptoms can take many forms, and since you were released and dx'd with anxiety, that should put your mind at ease...but of course, you are still going to be bothered by the symptoms, which are hard to ignore!

Therfore talking with your regular doctor about a treatment plan is going to be important. Therapy, along with your medication may be a consideration you want to be open to. Many members including myself have found therapy to be an incredible recovery tool.
