6 1/2 weeks on Effexor. 3rd day on 150mg. Still anxious!!

So I'm now up to 150mg, and over 6 weeks in total and I am still feeling anxious. I definately do not feel like I did on Celexa. I feel unmotivated and just plain blah. I don't want to call it quits yet, but I'm wondering how long should I truly give this med before I make a chang? Also, has anyone ever switched from Effexor to something else with sucess?? I will definitely stick it out, but really wish I could feel myself already! Just needing some advise and some reassurance to keep going!!! Christmas is coming and I want to feel that excitement again!!!!! Thanks for listening, Lisa

Thank you Larry! you are always so positive! I believe I will get better eventually, but I've invested so much time on this med now, that I really do want it to work. I will never give up on getting better!!

I've been on Effexor for just over two years now, I was on 112.5 mg daily but just recently had my dose increased to 150mg daily, it does take time to work its way into your system, and I am still adjusting to my new dose, all I can say is that it does get better, it takes time like any new med, it sounds as though you are very positive in your approach to this and that will help you greatly, if you do feel that things are not improving then I would go back and see your doctor, they will be able to help you.
