Hi

I started Lexapro four days ago. I am very nervous and now have insomnia and very jittery. I am only on 5mg a day. I do have to take .50 mg of  Xanax  to get thru the day and I need the Xanax to help me sleep. hard to get five hours of sleep per night. How long before the side affect go away. Can a person take Viagra to help out on the libido  if needed. How well does consoling work also. Just hoping the nervousness goes away soon.

Hey there, I just answered your question re alcohol and Lexapro and if you toss in Xanax into the picture you get a huge No to taking alcohol together with this drug.

I am sorry but we are not medical Drs. and cannot advise you on your drugs.  We can share our own experiences with meds we have been on are or are on but mixing drugs ETC is for a physician to advise you.

Lexapro takes a few weeks to take effect the insomnia, anxiety side effects will last 1-3 weeks usually but they do go away.

If you take it at night or afternoon and you feel wired and can't sleep, tak eit when you first wake up.
