Watchin dr. Phil and they're discussin our kind which is "addicted to doctors and bein opssessed wit our health". Well becuz we waste so much time and moneu goin bacc and forth to da doctor dr. Phils team has created an app called dr on demand. And wat iy does is connect u yo a doctor within seconds. Its a live video chat where da doctor can assure u dat u r fine or suggest an immediate doctor visit. The doctor can write referrels for u to c a specialist and even prescribe medicine. yayyyy I'm so excited. Thought Id share.

I would just beware of a couple of things...

One, this type of thing should not replace regular doctor visits...as a live video chat can't replace an acutal appointment.

...and two, did they mention if this is a free app? I know that some of the online dr.s advice sites (such as justanswer/health) can average fifty dollars and go up!!

I woul hate to see people with health anxiety racking up more medical costs.

Other than those concerns, this could be a helpful tool.:)

Yea I jst found out dat it does cost..40 for 15mins..yea it sucks..but at da same time its a lot cheaper than goin to a doc or er for da same thing over and over again recievin da same results which usually concludes dat everyyhing is fine. And also wit me dis would b a great tool becuz a lot of da Times I'm feelin symptoms..I go to er and once I'm there all my symptoms leave. Its almost like I freak myself out to da point I convince myself dat I need medical attention and once I get into a doctor filled environment I'm fine. I feel safe. Mayb dats jst me tho. Jst thought I'd share.

The big clinics in our area have what they refer to as an evisit online.

An e-Visit is an online medical visit that offers a convenient way to treat a variety of common symptoms from the comfort of your home or office.

  • You will receive a diagnosis and treatment plan - including necessary prescriptions - from a qualified advanced practice clinician.
  • The $35 cost will be submitted as a claim to your insurance company.

I tried it a couple of times but the answer always came back that I needed to be seen in person at the clinic.  It is pretty risky to dx a patient whom you have never laid eyes on.

Dr. Phil is not a medical Dr. and cannot prescribed medications to the best of my knowledge.

 I agree with SC,  how do you know who is taking the info at the other end of a telephone.

Dr. Phil is a PhD psychologist whose license was revoked years ago for violating professional ethics codes. I'd be cautious about his recommendations in general.

Ray I use to do the same as you, couldn't figure out why I would feel better after getting to ER, a nurse
told me one day in an almost casual statement. Oh, thats because the adrenaline has burned off!
