Woke up this morning at 530 am with full blown anxiety. Was soo shaky, head felt like pressure n air with a bad headache so I went to get some water...as soon as I stood up I got so dizzy and my heart started racing. I don't know what to do anymore. I was late for school because I thought I was going to die and couldn't calm down. After I took my Xanax I started to feel better but its short acting so it only lasts so long and then I have to deal. Its to the point now that I'm thinking without my Xanax I would seriously die. I'm thinking about starting my Lexapro tomorrow but I'm stuck on negative side effects such as the chance of it making anxiety worse, but how much worse can it get. I have anxiety just thinking about anxiety and its a 24/7 cycle. I have another cardiologist appointment on Dec.12th with a different one as my first one just chucked up my heart racing and palpitations to anxiety. Everything is a constant worry and I feel like there's a million jumping beans jumping at ALL times , its scary! I guess since it can't get any worse I will put all my trust into my Doctor with the Lexapro, and just pray I get better because no one should have to suffer the way I have been for almost half of my life now. This is HELL and I cant even fake being happy anymore so all I do is cry. )':

I am so sorry that you are feeling so miserable right now.:(

I can't remember if you mentioned having had any therapy experience in the past or present? Self-help work?

If not, then I can highly recommed pursuing either or both!

If however, you have tried just about all treatment options, and are still struggling to this degree...then like you said in your post...what have you got to lose by taking your Rx?

Can any side effects be any worse than continuing on this way?...and maybe you won't even experience any, but simply benefit from your meds!!

For some immediate relief, try using the coping skills in our Resources. Practice 3x aday, everyday, and things should improve for you.

Keep posting...we understand, care and want to see you conquer this current state of high anxiety!

Lacey , you are not alone .... Trust me I been there and still there ... Everything you are going through , so am I and maybe more ... If this will help I have been too cardio doc 1000 x or more , I had a stress test , EKGs lots of them , a holiter monitor , echo of the heart and a cardic cath where they actually went inside my leg up to my heart to check for blockage and guess what it all was 100% clean ,,,,,,, I hAd tons of blood work and for the headaches I had an MRI , EEG , ct scan and guess what all clean , GI doc went down my stomach twice and guess what , clean , I had tons of stuff done , been to er many times , and it's all anxiety .... I have learned to deal with it day by day and use coping skills , .... Somedays are hard some are good .... Contact me if you wanna talk

Thank you guys for your help. It does help me to know I am not alone , I seriously feel like I am going crazy. I just had like 15 anxiety attacks within the past 2 hours, maybe an ongoing one, then I realized I haven't eaten all day and I had coffee. I know with anxiety you shouldn't drink coffee, but I feel like I can't function. I can barely get out of bed in the mornings now a days. Then I take my Xanax and it cancels out the shakiness (well some of it) of the caffeine and I feel ok then. It's just a big ongoing cycle that just keeps repeating itself, just like all the doctor appts. and ER visits. It never stops! Im feeling like no one around me understands because no one I know has anxiety/depression issues like I do, so I was happy to have been referred to this website by one of my favorite apps on my phone (HealthTap). Its free and the doctors really do help also. Its been a big help when I had no one else to ask about certain things. But I like talking to those who understand what I'm going through, it's been a long road and I can see it's not gonna end any time soon, I just want to get BETTER! //-: Thanks everyone (-:
