anxiety choking and swallowing

Dear Worried, if you read these posts you will find that difficulty swallowing and a choking sensation are
all too common, both of you need to read these posts, for one good reason, "She will immediately understand
that PAD can cause these feelings and She will know She's not alone". There are free resources here that

I am sorry to hear of your daughter's anxiety and swallowing issue.

Like Larry said...this is a fairly common anxiety symptom, and you will find plenty of other posts on this that could be helpful to you. You can do search right here by hitting on the 'Search' icon in the above (right) toolbar.

That being said...have you had her checked out for other possible reasons for this problem? Physical issues such as GERD can cause/contribute to swallowing difficulty...and GERD and anxiety often go hand in hand. It is good therefore that you have a visit scheduled with her doctor.

Until her appointment, please visit our Resources here on our main page (1st post) to check out some great self-help ideas. The breathing and progressive muscle relaxation exercises may help when used along with the C.D. she was given.

thankyou guys , today hasnt been as bad as the last couple of days , my daughter is now a member of your website and has had some good advice given to her , the good news is she at least has had a few drinks albeit in the privacy of the bathroom but it is a start .also she has had the distraction of family visitors which has also helped , i am hopeful
