Done with Lexapro, back to try Remeron for a second time.

Well, after this morning and that episode with panicking the worst I have ever panicked in my life (well. pretty close to it!) and having to miss class over it, I'm done with the Lexapro. Im still sick to my stomach and almost threw up quite a few times throughout the day. I guess it's just not for me plain and simple. I hear it gives some people a little more anxiety for a little bit then they are good on it and it helps them tremendously! I just couldn't get past today (my fourth day on it). Everyone reacts differently but I have heard the increased anxiety stories and I guess I can say I'm glad I tried it and now I know it's just not for me at all. I was so scared out of my little mind that I called and asked my Dr if he could call me in my old anti dep. meds the Remeron to try once again since it gave me no side effects except being extra tired in the mornings (you take it at night) for a few weeks then I was full of energy again. (But it seemed to have stopped working after about 8-9 months as I upped and downed the dosages for a little bit) It seemed to have taken effect the day after taking it (I know sounds crazy, but so does me feeling this way on Lexapro on only day #4). Im starting on half of the 15mg and going to probably , most likely just stay at the lowest dose because I actually feel that's when I felt my best, I guess I just thought I could feel better by upping the dosages and well,, I was wrong. Thank you everyone for your advice and helping me through rough times!

It is really difficult when the thing that is supposed to help, makes you feel worse:( I am glad that you called your doctor, and that you could come to an alternative decision for you.

I am glad you can look at this experience as just a fluke and know it happens to all of us on medications.

Good luck with the Remeron - it is one I have never been on but I suspect it will serve you well.

Yes we all definitely react differently to each med like my friend is a nurse n said it is a good medicine and she was on Lexapro n liked it she said no side effects for her but she lost her insurance and couldn't take it anymore. But for me?, it made my anxiety the worst its ever been. I was of course reading on Google and alot of ppl actually said it made them feel like they were on speed for a couple weeks .. and others said increased anxiety. I was so afraid of it but I was willing to try anything because I have several panic attacks literally everyday and Im looking for some relief! The lexapro made me miss 2 days of school because I was shaking so bad couldn't sit still almost threw up a few times and gave me worse heart palps. I'm going back in my old meds Remeron which gave me no side effects except very tired for a week or two which id take anyday over increased anxiety, but everyone is different! You Won't know until you try it! It may be a fit for you, but its def not for me! One day off and Im feelinf a lot better other than my normal anxiety. Ugh!
