Some people just love to gift to others and you most likely made her day by being on the receiving end of the treats.

I bet she would be doing cartwheels to know how much it touched you!

What a lovely thing for your neighbor to do! Those cookies sound yummy. One of my favorite things to do this time of year is baking for Christmas with my mom. My husband brought home ingredients for Chex Mix and cookies from the grocery store yesterday afternoon. I think that's a hint for me to start baking!

I actually do tend to engage in the "pay it forward" idea... One of the things I do on a regular basis is when I go through the toll booths, I'll pay the toll for between 3-5 of the cars behind me,...just because. It makes me happy to surprise people and do something nice, especially if I can do it in ways that are creative.

As you said so beautifully, for some of us, the act of giving is a feel-good gesture all by itself.

I have to confess, S.C., I'd have to learn how to bake cookies first, (not much of a baker)! That's so sad to write... Everyone should know how to make the basics, and "cookies" are like, you know,...a food group.

In the meantime, I send you (and kitt) giant cyber cookies filled with hugs for being awesome!

I love to give and help others.  I used to bake 14 kinds of Christmas Bars and of course the pumpkin breads and banana breads.  I brought cookies to everyone who loved cookies and of course my 4 children and I loved the cookies most.

Living in MN and only having one smaller freezer I would put the cookies wrapped tightly in boxes, cans ETC in the trunk of my hubby's collector car which was always in our single garage.  Needless to say I got frostbite sneaking out to get cookies after the kids were in bed.

One spring when my hubby went to pull out his classic car he opened the trunk and called me outside..........I forgot I still had cookies in the trunk and there sat 4 dozen cookies.  No I did not eat them.

Here I am not baking like that anymore and I am blessed to have friends that drop off pies, lemon bars and "cookies".

It does make you feel good and I know you will play if forward.....................

Now I try to send out little gifts with all my angel cards.

Put on the teapot, we are all coming over for cookies.
