There are specified procedures to use when any medication dose is missed. It varies significantly by medication. There is no specific procedure for all. Contacting your doctor or pharmacist for advice would be the best idea.
I have morning meds and evening meds. One evening, in a rush to go to therapy, I took my morning dose again (from the wrong day in the pill organizer). That meant I took too much Thyroxine and too much Benicar that day. I thought I was going to have to go to the hospital. We called the pharmacy, they said it won't be a problem. I thought they were nuts, so we called the doctor, he said it wouldn't be a problem AND, he wanted me to take my next Thyroxine at the normal time the next morning.
From a credible online source, and I read the same in an online PDR, I found the following.
For Paxil:
"What happens if I miss a dose (Paxil)?
Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. Skip the missed dose if it is almost time for your next scheduled dose. Do not take extra medicine to make up the missed dose."
www.rxlist.com/paxil-drug/patient-avoid-while-taking.htmUpdate:
Same for Paxil CR:
"If you miss a dose of Paxil CR controlled-release tablets, take it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not take 2 doses at once."
Pharmacists, preferably where you got the prescript
ion filled, can be an excellent source of information regarding medication.
