I talked about going to the doctor the other day and I had an EKG that was supposedly perfect. But given the fact that my father died suddenly of a heart attack at a young age, the doctor gave me orders for a stress echo and 24 hour holter monitor. I scheduled both for Monday and was feeling pretty good the rest of the week. Today they called and said it hadn't been authorized by my insurance and I had to postpone. Apparently the drs office wasn't getting back to them so I called them. They basically had no idea about what authorization number to use. I called insurance. They said I didn't need an authorization number for these tests. Called the hospital back and they said I do. I started crying. She said the person that would handle it is back Monday and will call me when they get authorization.
So even though I say I've been okay doesn't mean I've been symptom free. I get headaches, neck aches, gas, bloating, shoulder pain, mostly on the left, sometimes on the right. My left leg gets weird feelings which I attributed to hurting my left hip in the fall that I never had checked out, but now I'm getting worried again that maybe all these things are signs of something more serious. I've never had insurance problems before and am so frustrated that it's happening now when I NEED these tests. Now who knows when I'll have them. Ughhhhhhh.
