I hate anxitey

I am new to this site and never posted on a forum before. I have suffered with Anxiety for many years, however, in the past 3 years it has gotten worse. I recently started feeling the tingling in my left arm. To be ease my mind I went to the doctor which confirmed my heart was fine and I was experiencing an anxiety/panic attack. I have a good support system, however, they are unable to relate to the feeling of anxiety to level I experience. I deal with this day in and day out....it's constant. I take Zoloft and for the most part it does it's job but I have these periods of time where I can't shake the anxiety. Once I am in this place I feel alone, no one understands what I am going through:( I have three children that need me at me best and I feel I am not holding up my end of the deal. I recently reached out to a therapist because really need to work on techniques to help me through the anxiety. I want to laugh and feel free of this anxiety but I just don't know how.

We are glad that you have joined us, although sorry to hear of your anxiety struggles.

It sounds however like you are on your way, and taking great steps towards your recovery!

Give the therapy some time. It is not the type of treatment that happens quickly in most cases....but it is well worth the wait. You will learn tools to help you manage your anxiety and be the person and mom you want and need to be.:)

Hello Anxiety. I'm glad you're here and understand what you're going through. I'm kind of in the opposite situation you're in, but the same as far as the anxiety goes. My kids are grown and on their own and I live by myself. Anxiety for me is at a high righ now. Symptoms seem to be more intense the older I get (I'm 50 now). Sometimes my heart feels like it's pounding. Others, my chest just gets a tight feeling which scares the hell out of me. I've had bloodwork and all the testing you can imagine and all are always fine. I actually have a stress test scheduled this Friday just to be sure, but doctor doesn't expect to find anything there either. I also get shaky and light headed like my equilibrium is off. My doctor suggested an ENT and I'm going to take her up on it as my ears hurt alot. Like littlewing, I have also just sat and cried wishing this would go away and I could feel like myself again. I have medical bills to deal with and next month will be making an 1800 mile road trip to see my daughter as she's expecting her first baby. I'm very excited but very nervous to be driving so far alone, fearful of anxiety. Sorry, I didn't mean to turn this into a spill my guts thing, but totally understand how you feel. Just know you are not alone , this forum is a huge help , somedays I didn't know how I would make it and everyone on here got me through , like you I had tons and tons of testing and everything , year and half later just wish I had my life back , and let me tell you , in May my son was dx with leukemia and I had to be the best parent I could be , and put my anxiety to the side it was very hard , while my son is now cancer free , I still struggle And can only do the lite things , ... Just take one day at a time and do what you can .... Will keep you in prayer
