SoulNHealingI am sorry that you are suffering so much right now! Anxiety can do it's best to make you feel your worst but know that there is help so do seek out your Dr. and suggest something to help you sleep until you can get a grip on your anxiety.
I know many members are on medications that help them with insomnia and I, too, take a "bed-time med". My Psychiatrist prescribed Trazodone for me 50 mg tablets. I may use 2 - 4 tabs at bedtime. She also suggested that I take the medication an hour or two before my bed-time.
This has been the best medication I have ever taken as it does exactly what I want it to do - helps me fall asleep and stay asleep. I started using Trazodone 50mg - 2 tabs every night. Over the 6 years I have been on it I have occasions where I may need up to 4 tabs but generally I have pretty much taken 3 tabs= 150mg.
I know your quality of life is impaired by insomnia so please do make an appointment and consider talking with your Dr. re trying something other than a benzodiazepine as most Drs. will not prescribe these medications for long term usage.
I realize that each of us is different so Trazodone at low dose to help you sleep may not be the answer but do advocate for you and discuss options with your Dr.
Sending you good wishes for the weekend.
Kindly,
Kitt
