Anxiety and worries

Had a stressful period last month that causes me to lose appetite n sleep. I bounced back a week later. But the stress already taken a toll on me. Few weeks after the episode, i had a hyperventilation. Then few days later panic attack. And then what soon followed was i sometimes feel oppression on my chest, tingling feeling and racing pulse. i've seen doc n requested to do ECG but he said no need and gave me beta blockers (to try).. i've seen another doc too but he didnt say much and tested my blood which is not thyorid. I've also seen TCM who think my heart is fine. my heart rate has always been high.. 80s - 90s. I lead a non-active lifestyle and being slightly overweight.

I've also become a vegetarian for a month. i've always been quite constipated but now every morning, i go to detox automatically. And i worry my poo is not banana shape but quite floating. Should i be worried?

I've always been a health anxiety.. its a vicious cycle. nobody understand us.

Bear with me, I'm just tossing this out....

I thought I read somewhere that if your bowel movements float to the top, it's indicative of a diet that is higher in fat.

I notice the correlation myself.

I'm no expert, certainly not a doctor, but sharing some reading and personal experience.

My doc says changes in diet may affect bowel habits too.

The doc actually offered me anxiety pills but she says it's only for curbing the symptoms but you have to overcome the anxiety myself.

Do you see a TCM for anxiety? It may help.. I was experiencing heart palpitations and racing heart for few weeks. It was horrible feeling. I did ECG but it was fine. Then I saw a TCM who helped me. He thinks my body is too 'too much internal heat' thus causing me to feel anxiety and irritated. I took his herb med for 2 days and I felt better.

I have numerous access to traditional Chinese medicine because of where I stay.. In TCM, anxiety is caused by stagnant QI in your liver.. which sets off your throbbing heartbeat sometimes.

There must be a balance Yin and Yang in our body, to which when one is disrupted, we would feel the difference such as anxiety.

I haven't learned any skills, just sharing what I do to feel better.

First time in this forum but hope I can give you some encouragement. I have suffered with anxiety & depression most of my life until recently. I was prescribed Paxil which knocked down the physical symptoms, but caused a host of disturbing side effects. Four months ago I stumbled upon a little known author, Y V Chawla from India. After reading just a few pages from one his books, I knew I had found an "understanding" that changed my life. I no longer go to my thoughts to solve "psychological" problems. I now understand that our minds constantly seek comfort, security & certainty which is why I had developed compulsions to overeat, watch excessive amounts of TV & gamble. I no longer seek comfort when I am feeling fear, anger or frustration. I just feel the pain without trying to explain, blame or complain. Mr. Chawla explains it a lot better than I can but I'm now feeling joy on a daily basis. All my compulsions have disappeared & recently went to Las Vegas with my husband & never touched a slot machine. I have not overeaten in four months which is miraculous. Mr. Chawla says we must not view negative feelings as alien, they are a part of life along with positive ones. Anyway, I hope this helps...maybe a fraction. Take care of yourself. KK
