Day one alone with new boss
OMG
He acts and talks like he knows everything but he knows nothing
Depended on me so much today that I couldn't do any of my own work
Other employees depended on me so much that I couldn't do my own work
Customers pressuring me to get done what they need NOW-brought home work
Already missed delivery deadlines due to mismanagement and he doesn't care and doesn't answer emails about
it
I feel like I am walking a fine line between giving him respect to make the calls because he is my boss but will be disappointing & angering customers.
It was old bosses retirement dinner tonight. One of the owners said to new boss- make her your protege because when you retire she is next in line.
God help me I don't want the job.
But- this sucks if I am going to have to carry him while he makes the big bucks and I do not.
Today I broke out in hives.
I haven't slept good since he began training a week ago. Yesterday was bosses last day.
My chest hurts.
I hope I don't upset myself into a heart attack.
My brother died at 58 of one. My mom's heart after a massive one at age 60 only functions at 30%. Despite that she is still living a full life at 85 but she never worked again after it.

Oh dear, I'm sorry your first day with the new boss didn't go well. That can't be easy, having to carry your new boss along! Is there no one above your boss you could talk to if this carries on?
Sending hugs, A x

WRAS,
The first few days can be a tough all around for a new supervisor/manager/boss and the existing employees that have been there all along.
There is bound to be an adjustment and learning curve for this guy...and unfortunately, many people come onto a new scene with bravdo, rather humility.
I hope that his attitude changes soon!
Do what you can to keep yourself sane and use those decompression skills a lot right now.
I will keep your situation in my thoughts and prayers...keep up posted and come vent all that you need to.

Thanks to you both for support
Thank God it's Friday & I made it through today and now have a weekend!
I slept for crap last night but when I got up this morning I made a pact with myself that although I will show the new boss the respect a boss is entitled to I will not compromise what I know is necessary to make our business thrive.
He took it pretty well.
Still not enjoying the personality....but that's life I suppose
Perhaps this will push me out & to pursue in life what I really want.

Can't believe Monday is rolling around again.
As much as I want to keep a positive attitude and seem to be able to do so during waking hours-nights have been bad when I TRY to sleep. So I'm feeling very tired, worn out and my RA is acting up.
I keep telling myself to make the best of the situation. There must be things to learn from him and I should take advantage of that. He affords me the opportunity to make decisions on my own that my old boss didn't and that is a good thing.
Ah well- it's time to try and sleep....
Thanks all for your continued support- I need it and it means the world to me

I hope that you are able to sleep tonight, and that your Monday is calm and anxiety free!
Great job on finding the postives in this new situation.:)
I am sorry that your RA is flaring, and I do hope that you can get some relief from that soon! Do you see your rheumy doc anytime soon?
Peace and progress!

Ooooooh!! :)
I think you just spoke magic words!
You're seeing the positive side to this experience, and that's exceptional! I like that. There's bound to be an adjustment period for everyone involved.
It sounds like your experience with your company is proving to be quite an asset, and your outlook (refreshed) is going to serve you quite well!
Sweet! :)
