IDK if your therapist would approve of this or not...so run it by him if you think you might try this.
For me, the harder I try to stop crying...or even keep my eyes from watering, which they do randomly at times...
...the worse it gets!
So maybe carrying a bottle of visine or artificial tears with you and using it when your eyes show the telltale signs of crying might be a good 'smoke screen' for the tears.
You could say that you have dry eyes/allergies and use the drops when needed to cover?
Again, your therapist may see this as counter productive to what he is having you do to manage this, so be sure and ask about his thoughts about it.
