MUTW,
Here is an article that is interesting and informative about
alternative ways to boost Seratonin levels. Including such things as exercise and getting sufficient sunlight. Other things that are also helpful include meditation and coping skills, such as the ones in our Resources.
I hope that you find benefit from reading it.
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2077351/I do feel for you and your situation! I have one grown, and one going in to Jr. High next year. It was tough when my first one left the nest...but I am dreading my last baby leaving!
One bit of encouragement...I am really enjoying my relationship with my adult daughter so much.:) Yes, it is different, but still a great bond, and in some ways we are closer now...because I know that she wants to be hanging out with me, not because she doesn't have a choice, lol!
Great job on working on the new dynamic of reinventing yourself. There are many things that you can discover and try now that you are the parent of an adult. Remember that we never stop being parents, and your daughter will always need her daddy...but now maybe you can start a new hobby or take that trip you've always wanted to!
Keep talking with us here as well...we care and understand.:)
