heartbroken

I am so heartbroken, I had to put down my almost 10 yr old german shepherd Niko on Wednesday. My heart breaks as he was my best friend and I always felt safe and protected by him. He was 127 pounds and such a handsome boy. When I told my 5 year old daughter she cried herself to sleep. She keeps asking me if he is in heaven and if we will see him again. I so so hope we do.
I cried all day at work yesterday and this morning is no better. My house doesn't feel like home without him.
The strange thing is that I have had no pains or headaches (except for crying kind) and no anxiety since I lost him. I guess I'm too upset to worry about why I don't feel well all the time. I have no idea, maybe realizing that you need to be thankful for every minute you have with someone or something you love so much. Life is short and why do we waste it with constant worry and anxiety.

I had to put down my 17 year old yellow lab two years ago and I still call my new dog by his name, Wynter...he can never be replaced yet my two dogs I have now, a Westie and a Golden Retriever are wonderful too.

It is so hard, and such a loss. He was an important member of your family after all!

So sorry about your loss. It's so hard to lose a furbaby..I know all I can say is sorry. It' not easy at all, no more than losing a loved one that is human. Peace be with you and your daughter. Hope you have a good night, and no anxiety over it.
