My hubby has Crohn's for way to many years now but know it is one disease that will treat you completely different than the next person. Hubby had his first surgery at 38 years ago. I must have been tougher back then as I handled it along with 4 school aged children. He has high blood pressure for which he is taking meds.
You are right about your BP running on the low side due to your Crohn's.
Couple of things jumped out at me - first of all, Anxious girl goes to the head of the class...............good thought and worth mentioning POTS to your Dr.
Postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS) is one of a group of disorders that have orthostatic intolerance (OI) as their primary symptom. OI describes a condition in which an excessively reduced volume of blood returns to the heart after an individual stands up from a lying down position. The primary symptom of OI is lightheadedness or fainting. In POTS, the lightheadedness or fainting is also accompanied by a rapid increase in heartbeat of more than 30 beats per minute, or a heart rate that exceeds 120 beats per minute, within 10 minutes of rising. The faintness or lightheadedness of POTS are relieved by lying down again. Reference: Medscape Reference
I will get the same type of sx as you from time to time and I am not diabetic, however, a person's blood sugar can drop for many reasons.
Mild symptoms of low Blood Sugar = dizziness, shakiness, nervousness, sweating ( for me it is usually cold sweats or clammy skin). The treatment for a low blood sugar is food containing sugar. This is one you should run past your Dr. as he may want to run some lab work on you.
You may want to keep 5 or 6 pieces of hard candy, 2 tbsp. of raisins or have a juice box handy in your purse when you start to feel this way. You may also have to buy a new bigger purse and I recommended ones of Coach's awesome bags...............
Remember, I am not a Dr. I am sharing thoughts with you and would never presume to dx you - - so do talk with your Dr., stay hydrated, try to eat small frequent meals and know that anybody with a serious bowel disorder is bound to be anxious so you have joined the right group.
Gentle Hugs,
Kitt
