Stopped my Zoloft after a week ....give up

I just can't take any of it I want my life back , I started 25mg Zoloft last Saturday after , and I still feel funny , especially my chest still hurts , doc thinks it's just still my anxiety and says give the Zoloft time , I just don't know what to do , I feel like the Zoloft is causing harm , why is this so hard to get rid of , August will be two years of dealing with this non stop , I'm ready to just give up ....

Have you tried Xanax SOIA?? To give you some relief? Do you have a support system, family, husband, friends, church? People LOVE helping others so please reach out. There is something very therapeutic about face to face human interaction.

What are you willing to try? I understand your fears but what's holding you back from trying the Zoloft?

Isolation is no good even though we may feel like hiding away bc we feel so scared and crazy. You are not crazy and not alone. I just know there is someone in your community you could reach out to...

yes i have ativan 0.5mg ,its not that im so scared of the zoloft , i dont like how my chest feels with it , i mean my chest was hurting without it but seems it started with back up with the zoloft , i just wanna be normal again

Kitt, I've been taking Buspar myself for about a week and a half. No major side effects and if course I was worried too. I have other friends on it that say it helps them too.

SOIA, ask Dr abt Buspar. Can you do Yoga? I can't fully bc I'm outta shape and have had knee surgery but I started last week and just do what I can. Sweating bullets and stretching & breathing has been a new, yet very nice experience for me. I'm willing to try anything natural and I keep hearing "yoga and meditation", even from my psychiatrist! My sister is a family physician and she too has told me these things for awhile. Nothing like anxiety to have motivated me from complacency to moving!

I'm not saying it's the cure-all. Nothing is. But in combination with a med if we need them (I do), it's a more complete puzzle vs pieces of the puzzle just scattered in a mess on the table so to speak.

I'm personally my own worst enemy and at 43, as a former social worker who helped others for years and one who's formal education is a degree in psychology and social work, I'm JUST learning this abt myself. I distracted for soooo many years by stuffing almost ANY negative feeling away. The stuffing worked "great" too bc I was "happy" and not anxious for many years. I have a lively tendency to help others before myself and like the saying goes, "you'll go bankrupt (emotionally) if all you do is withdrawl and not deposit. I forgot to make my own deposits :-/. Never again! Nothing like anxiety to give me a swift luck in the you know what to make me become aware...

I'm a helper & giver by nature and I want to do that from now on more authentically, not sacrificing myself in the journey.

I've a sense you too are a giver and compassionate. You were there for your son while he was battling cancer and you likely gave all you had with little or no deposits back to yourself. That's what parents do. But you have the ability to start this minute. A very easy way is to write 3 things you're grateful for, every day. Each day they have to be different. You may feel resistance bc anxiety makes it feel gross sometimes to feel happy or grateful but do it anyway! I'll start today if you will. I'll be your grateful buddy.

Look, you're a mom. That means you're strong whether you admit that or not. Nothing, no past hurts or current hurts can or will keep you in this muck forever. I'm not even a mom so you've a leg up on me, in my opinion, on the strength chart. :)

I'm fighting it too. It's only been 3.5 months but that's the longest I've ever suffered. Not all days are rotten but each time I feel that anxiety and gloom, it might as well be the first time. Trying to change that attitude by embracing it. That's HARD & I'm still not sure how to do it bc it's a totally foreign concept to me but by God I'm trying it. Look at the post I made about embracing anxiety.
