Hi peeps,

How are y'all? Since yesterday i've been having a lot of shortness of breath, my mid chest burns and i have a lot of muccus in my throat... Shortness of breath and chest burning come and go... Chest burns are more likely in the morning time since it i woke up yesterday and the shortness of breath go away when i change my mind but come back the minute i stop doing stuff... They are not like bad shortness of breath just incomforts... Enough to make me worry... I have seen the doctor last week she listened to my heart, took my blood pressure and listened to my breathing and said i was fine... So i don't get it it makes me nervous a lot... But also confused... It started yesterday as i was walking outside getting my girlfriend to the subway it was very very hot outside... It started in a glimpse of a second and lasted all day and night coming and going and i went to bed... I slept ok meaning that it didnt bother me i woke up often cause i was nervous but not because of that and when i first woke up i was ok it came back once i started doing my every day stuff so i don't understand... Is this anxiety... Is this a chest or lungs infection... What the heck... It also is allergy season so maybe i got that too... Idk i'm nervous and panicky.... Please help me... I'm sorry for being like this... I feel very guilty all the time... Im making efforts but they don't seem to work... I'm sorry

Hey guys,

How are y'all... On my part im feeling low... I've been having this kind of pinching under my left breast all day and it's just annoying im trying to stay calm and my girlfriend is here with me but my head keeps sending me these warning signs that i could be in danger... I feel like crying and i hate having these thoughts why does our lives have to be so hard... Why do we suffer frok our own conscience... I hate that... I hate anxiety i want to be happy again... Sorry i feel really low spirited tonight

No need to apologize! We all get like that once in a while:) The important part is turning your anxiety around and get going in the right direction. It will happen. Just give it some time (which sounds horrid, I know).

Hey guys... Is anybody on? Are there chatting possibilities... Id need to talk im on a bad streak right now... I have pains in my left chest part and im pretty fed up its been a year today since ive had my first big panic attack and today i have this kind of glare on my left chest part and i hate it so if anybody is free let me know id appreciate it

Hi Wiki,

Sorry, I am back work again...and my youngest is in middle school...so I don't even get the computer at times since she needs it for homework now. (we have laptops and devices...but I have trouble posting on anything but the P.C.)

Anyway...I apologize for the late reply.:( How are you feeling now? Did you even get into chat and find someone to talk with?

I do hope that today your symptoms have gone away, and that you are feeling well..

How are you doing with your coping skills lately? Have you found any that bring relief...or do you need some suggestions? Let me know.:)

Hey guys,

Been a while... Im doing better lately... I saw my doc today he gave me a prescription for effixor or something... It was pretty stressful and now my left arm feels numb so of course im more stressed it blows... I wish it would go away... Sorry guys for complaining i feel low today... Sorry

Wiki- stop apologizing! No need to apologize to "the choir", we've all had similar struggles or are going through them.

So glad you saw your doctor. Effexor works well for a lot of people. This crap will pass, it always does. Some of us are just "lucky" enough to have to struggle a bit longer than we'd like.

Hope you've stopped googling things. It's part of my therapy to NOT Google symptoms. It's relieving not to :-)

I did stop googling stuff but tonight im really really scared i feel like absolute crap... Andim scared my head keeps telling me i'll die and it is making me twice as anxious... My chest feels stiff, my left arm is all numb and i have a headache... Im scared and alone and im sad and desperate... Id need to talk to someone i think... If that is possiblr let me know how id really appreciate it....

What state/city are you in? In a larger city? Bc many larger cities have a hotline you can call just to talk to someone.

When my anxiety was bad and I felt alone, I called our local behavioral health hospital and talked to an on call social worker for like 40 minutes. It was wonderful and helped calm me down.

Sometimes just getting outta your own head and talking to someone else can help.

How old are you if I may ask? I didn't read through all of the pages to see if you said anywhere your age.

Yeah we have that around here too.. And im 32... We have public service for that but these people dont understand anxiety at all

Have you tried calling the Montreal Suicide Hotline? You don't have to be suicidal. You can call to talk to someone even for depression & anxiety.

How are you doing today? Just checking in. I am sorry, I was not able to be on the computer last night...and therefore missed your post.

I do want to hear how you are doing this morning though...so please give us an update when you can!

I really hope that you are feelling better today...use those coping skills...I just added another good anxiety management tool to our Resources...check it out if you can, and maybe if will bring some relief.

I'm so sad as I read this thread because it sounds so much like me! I know one thing that helps me is just stating the obvious. I'm still here and I've been checked out and all of the "facts" point to me being ok. Doesn't stop me from having chests tightness, jabs, racing heart, shortness of breath, etc. I have health anxiety issues so this all flips me out, but I just try to remind myself that what I really have isn't heart disease, but another disease. Anxiety. That is your diagnosis. I'm always available to chat if you need to. Hugs.

Hey guys just thought id give some news since its been a while... Lately everyday is different... I have days where i am fine... Others (like today) where i have pressure in my left chest side which i dont understand at all... Im trying to welcome the pain and slowly invite to leave and maybe get used to it so it will go away or not affect me so much... Im going to have new blood test done probably this week and see... Life is stressful but im trying to find thingsthat makes me happy... I started my own youtube channel andmake videos reviewing metal albums and i bought myself a nintendo wii u console which i really love im a huge The Legend Of Zelda fan so the new Hyrule Warriors game helps me relax even though its a pretty stressful game haha! And every monday night i got to an anxiety support group and talk about this with other people for 1:30 which helps me understand how i feel... But all of this to say that im pretty tired of these chest pains and hope someday they will go away im still afraid of heart attacks but im getting better on rational thinking... Any stories or anything that could helpme cope or comfort me is always welcomed though :) thanks guys you rock!

Hi guys, it's been a while since i've posted on here... I was away for a long while and i was trying to deal with my anxiety on my own also... I have joined an anxiety support group which went well it's over now thought... I was doing fairly better i even racked up the courage to fulfil a dream of mine and start my own gaming channel on Youtube (You can check it out look for The 2d Geek) so those are all positive stuff... Buuuut... Well i guess you guys figured out that if i came back here it's because things aren't as dandy anymore... Well you'd be right... I have plenty of new positive stuff in my life, many people to look up to, many awesome friends, i got many new projects coming in 2015... I got both the ps4 and xbox one amongs many others (every gamer's dream) but i still have one merciless enemy... My anxiety and lately i have been having diffrrrnt kind of symptoms before i was afraid i'd have a heart attack which i have pretty much dealt with... But lately i have been feeling shalloe breathing that sometimes make me short of breath and it scares me... I also pretty much constantly have a lump in my throat which is pretty annoying and that also sometimes leave me short of breath or with a shallow breath feeling... I have researched anxiety a lot in the past year and i know those can br anxiety related and im trying to convince myself but i cant seem to do so i always get afraid and well it is pretty discomforting too... I think i may have GERD symptoms sometimes too cause ive always been a rather nervous person but i dont know for sure... I just celebrated my 33rd birthday three weeks ago and i really want to make this year the year im going to beat anxiety for good so any advice, personal stories, pearls of wisdom or anything else useful will be utterly welcomed! Thanks for all the support guys!

Welcome back...and glad to hear of the postives that have been happening in your life, and the reprieve from anxiety that you enjoyed.:) It is great that you had your group, and no doubt gained from that!

However, sorry to hear that you have a new set of concerns that are trying to bother you. Anxiety can be tricky lik that...just as you feel relief from one thing, another can come and takes it place.

There is good news though! Since you conquered your previous concerns, you can do the same again with the breathing/lump in the throat issues.

Using the coping skills that helped you before is a good place to start. Beyond that, looking for some new material, either here in our Resources, or perhaps in a new workbook, or other self-help source, could give you the edge to meet this new challenge.

The point is to keep trying new things, while relying on the things that have helped in the past. In this way, you are doing all of the things you can to beat anxiety at its game.;)

Keep posting, and we'll keep you in support!
