have you ever been watching a scary movie not a horror movie but drama And thought you were breathing weird and then you started having panic and really thought you couldn't breathe? My son has strep throat too so I've been stressed out worrying about him and thinkin I'm going to get it too.I hate when I do that crap to myself.
This is a good example how anxiety is triggered.
Scary movie causes you to think thoughts or feel something which in turn release adrenaline which causes panic symptoms. Therefore, the source of the REAL problem is not the movie or stress or crowds or anything, but the fact that your adrenaline via fight or flight response is triggered from them.
2 things are extremely important here:
Once the fight or flight response is activated and adrenaline has been released, the best thing to do is allow it to pass and not get into a cycle of fear. Adding fear to that initial fear causes a loop.
The second thing is to heal yourself so the fight or flight response is not triggered so easily.
