Klonopin Withdrawal

I have progressed from 4 mgs of Xanax for a lengthy period to 3 mgs
of Klonopin daily as prescribed. It was believed that the xanax was
"wearing off" and the Klonopin was a convenient substitute for use and
eventual discontinuation. I am down to one-and-a-half mgs per day
and am experiencing up-and-down type withdrawal symptoms, which
are handled successfully with an immediate half-pill. Anyone having
similar experiences able to provide any recommendations or suggestions?
It's a tricky scenario when you're trying to withdraw and get back to what
my doctor calls "the real me".... Weird stuff.

I just went through the same thing. I was on 1mg Xanax 3 times a day. A month I started having extremely bad and constant anxiety along with physical symptoms. It was probably med related (Lexapro). The Xanax wasn't touching it at all.

After seeing my psych I switched from Lexapro to Zoloft (which I've been on before), and from Xanax to Klonopin. My klonopin is the same dosage, 1mg 3 times a day. I asked if it was ok to switch immediately without tapering and he said yes.

After some hesitation I did, I had one or two rough days but I recognized it for what it was and rode out any temptation to go back to Xanax. Now the switch is done and I feel great again.

You are dropping the dosage a bit, so you are probably feeling it but as more of the klonopin is in your system you should even out. But I'm not a doctor and everyone will respond differently. The main thing is patience. Give your body time to adjust.
