I like S.C.'s explanation of how we have 'pet' symptoms unique to all of us. Just another aspect of how individual anxiety can be and how it affects us.
One thing I noticed for me anyway, is when my anxiety is peaking, and my breathing becomes more rapid and shallow, my mucous membranes dry out quicker (nose, throat, mouth) and it can certainly contribute to those feelings of raw, itch, cough, discomfort, resultant swelling.
Staying hydrated is really important. I'm a big super hydrator but I still get it. I'm not sure if that's what you're experiencing but I figured I share my personal experiences with you. :)
