Again...

...sorry to be MIA. Between volunteering 20 extra hours (at church) last week...

...and going on a family camping trip this weekend, I have been the Scarcey Cat.

I am back now though in full force...at least for the next two weeks. (we take our cruise to Alaska 8/9)

P.C. I did really well...only a bit of night time anxiety when I woke up disoriented in our tent the second night...but I was able to calm down after doing some breathing and using some positive mantras. Thanks for asking!!

Summers use to be rough on the tundra.

Larry...

...no flying insects...not even mosiquitoes!!

...but I found a scorpion! It's not like it wandered into our campsite...I went looking for it....turning over every rock on the hiking trail.

Actually, I was hoping for a snake or a newt...I like creepy crawlies. (weird, I know)

...but I have to admit, I was suprised to find one of these guys in the Santa Cruz (Northern California) mountain range!

We took some pictures from a safe distance. I never did find any reptiles, except for a baby lizard that was too fast to catch.:)

The last camping trip, we were visited by a skunk in the middle of the night...glad to not repeat that adventure!

...and we once lost our entire breakfast to the racoons when we failed to put away the coolers one night. Live and learn!
