I get chronic headached lasting for days that are constant pressure type...probably tension realated.

I also get migraines, with or without pain. The aura is always there however, making me feel loopy, confused, and occasionally speech affected.

I also get vertigo occasionally with a migraine aura....that is really disconcerting!

If you are worried about taking your Rx migraine meds...why not try an OTC migraine relief such as Excederin for Migraines? This could provide some relief, and possibly make it easier for you to try your prescription?

I wish you the best and some relief from the headaches soon.

Have you been tested for allergies or gluten intolerance/celiac? I know you've had a lot of tests but curious if you've had allergy testing or gluten sensitivity/celiac?

I meant where you go to an allergist and get pricked with little needles to see how your skin reacts to foods, weeds, etc. My friends niece just had that done and she was very allergic to so many things and not knowing, was eating many of these things. She had physical symptoms and mental symptoms!

The gluten tolerance test is blood test and the celiac test is a breath test in a lab.

As you know, the mind & body are so connected and with all you've been through, it's no doubt stress causing you most of this. I just found it so interesting how my friends niece wàs allergic to so much and is already feeling better eliminating things from her diet after only one month.

I've been praying for you since I "met" you on here several months ago and continue to!!!

I have to play therapist to you for a moment and it's in 100% kindness & empathy-

You said "why can't I just find a med that works, be on it and get off of it like a normal person?" From the posts I've read from you, you've not given a med more than 2 weeks? or less to work... They take a minimum of 2 weeks to even notice the tiniest difference. You have to be willing to make a serious commitment to trying a med a staying on it minimum 4 weeks. Period.

I truly empathize with all you've gone through. It's been a very very rough couple of years. Only you, howver, can make the choice if you want relief from a med to try it for the recommended amt of time. I've hated the waiting game, it's no fun but neither is being miserable and I'm willing to try whatever the psychiatrist recommends & stick with it. Yes there are some meds that don't mix well for everyone. I had that experience with Zoloft and also before when I was on generic Prozac and they upped the dose. But i kept at it then & now knowing something would work.

I'm also in therapy. Cognitive behavioral therapy. Are you seeing a therapist, I can't remember? If not, I can't possibly recommend it enough for you.

zoloft gave me weight gain ...uhhhh

when you never take pills in your life, and eat very natural , its very hard to except taking pills , i try to fight through it , ... im typing from my cell phone , and its auto spelling so sorry for the words spelled wrong

zoloft - several trys and not longer then a week , last time was longest time , it made my chest feel tight , did help me sleep , had headches and made me eat all the time , after i stopped it i had 3 amazing days felt like i was almost myself them boom ..... so i dont know if it was working or not , gained 10 pounds and i have to watch my weight as im border line diabetic , i was on 25mg was suppose to go to 50 then up to 100 , very scared to ......
lexapro - on one day sent to er
celexa -on two days sent to er
exeffor - didnt try due to very bad reviews
wellbutrin - was ok , had very bad nightmares , did not take long
klonopin -was ok
ativan - take on and off 0.5 mg as needed ... dont like it
xanaxx - on dose and i couldnt take it anymore

and yes the norttrpline was for headaches and anxiety

There is a "bad report" or horror story to every single med out there- including asprin and many OTC drugs! May I suggest NOT googling or reviewing any more. Seriously. I'm guilty of it. I'm sure we all are. But it's literally part of my therapy now to NOT google anything medical/mental health. My therapist knows I'm active on this forum and he's a-ok with that.

When you say sent you to the ER, do you mean from a panic attack/chest pains?

I have bad dreams for a couple of weeks after starting a new med. It's par for the course for some of us. Some don't notice or it doesn't bother them.

I understand your frustration to have gone from healthy to "this" and resisting medication. I get it. I'd prefer not to take meds either but I cannot tolerate depression/anxiety (some ppl do! I assumed anyone would run to the doc feeling these miseries but sadly they don't)! I read David Letterman had depression for 6 months and didn't even realize it! He was still working and in his show every night but would come home, close the blinds, not socialize and just sleep.

But I digress- you could reframe the medicine thing and work towards trying another, staying on it long enough to see if it works. When one does (& something WILL), commit to stay on it a year then you could titrate off of it. A working med now would speed up this process to get your chemicals stabilized then a year from then, you can discuss w/doc to go off of them.

Have you ever tried Prozac? It's the only one I know that is easy to go off of.

Mine feel like pressure, and my eyes hurt.
