So scared and anxious

I went to a neurologist yesterday. My right arm felt like it was on icy-hot fire. He did his examination of me and asked all the questions, but during his pin prick sensation test I had numbness in my right arm
The difference in sensation in my arm really alarmed me.
He ordered some bloodwork for me : vitamins d, folate, b12, liver check, glucose and Lyme tests.
He told me that he also wanted me to return for an emg and depending on the results from these tests possibly an mri. He also told me he didn't want me to worry.
But by the time I got to my car, my right arm felt llike someone had been holding an ice pack against it - icy/hot feelings and was also a good bit of pain, like I had been writing for days.
I have felt afraid ever since. I meditated, took half a xanax, talked with my husband about it, but my worry followed me even in my sleep.
My arm feels better today, but I'm still worried.
I so badly want to be healthy, to be okay.

Mam, the symptoms you describe sound more like a nerve thing
to me, I am not a doctor but I have a lot of experience as a patient and I have had the same feelings myself, just remember
a basic thought in our world of fear, "feelings are not facts",
One other thing if the doctor had thought you were in danger he
would have sent you to the hospital instead of home. Peace

Thank you for reminding me of that, Larry... feelings are not facts!! I have a hard time trusting at times, but yes, I also need to remember that if the doc thought something were seriously putting me in danger he would have had me go to the ER.

It's just difficult for me to stay here and not run off into the future... all the what ifs.

I went to the neuro because I had written to my GP and told her that I had a new symptom (sunburn/icy/hot sensation in various parts of my body, but especially in my arm) and flare up of an older one (frequent muscle twitching). Her response was to tell me to wait it out and if the symptoms were persistent to come see her, or go to a neurologist. I had been to him before about a year and a half ago when I had constant headaches. The headaches went away, but other symptoms would crop up and come and go...
