On America's Got talent, there's this young woman (maybe around 20 years old?) that auditioned for the show and sang in front of the 4 judges and a large live audience, as well as national TV exposure (knowing it would air later). The thing is that she said that just 4 months before the audition, she had been in bed, basically paralyzed with fear/anxiety/depression and panic attacks.
She said that "music" saved her, like it was her life line I suppose.
She did fairly well and Howie who is a germaphobe, told her that he also suffers from an anxiety disorder. He came up on stage and gave her a hug.
She made it through to the next round and only had to sing before the 4 judges. She supposedly had a panic attack and was crying and the other lady singers competing with her were all very comforting and supportive to her. So she managed to come on out, do her song and made it through to the quarter finals. I do not know if she will perform next Tuesday or the Tuesday after that.
Anyway, I was absolutely AMAZED that a person could go from being in bed, afraid to get out, to singing in front of an audience of thousands, in only 4 months!!! I know that the young are resilient. Whatever the case, I could hardly believe it. But I guess it is true. She must have a great therapist and a really strong will. I'm happy for her, but envious too! sigh.

Yes, I think she is awesome..It was so hard for her to sing in front of people. Yet she did it. She had that panic attack before her second time up on stage, and made it through again. I agree, it's very inspirational..I had tears in my eyes. Glad you brought that up, because it shows that we can fight through this and win sometimes.
