Breathe, in through the nose (smelling the roses) and out through the mouth (blowing out the candles). It really helps. Breathe in for the count of two, out for the count of three of four. Make the out breath longer than the in. Pursed lips when you breathe out. This gives you control of your breathing and relaxes you. If you did have COPD, that is what they would tell you to do. But it helps with anxiety too.
Keep your mind busy until your appointment. It really is going to be alright.
