cry I am having full blown panic attack,have no pill with me to help,feel like my throat is being choked ,,lots of heart pounding ,do they get more frequent as this is 4th this week and i am thrown off by this .
anytime i eat my BRINTELLIX in few hrs it happens ,now making me worried a lot .
i really need good meds but plz tell me different pillthan XANAX,PAXIL,ZOLOFT as i hate those ,my friends have bad stuff to say abt them.

i am really worried as it feels like a nervous breakdown ,i might end up IN ER anytime soon. shocked idea

trying to bring peace and calm but panic attack has lingering effects i feel ,will take me days to feel ok.

Still effects are here to stay ,have this impending doom and vomiting feeling which won't go away .

Cilly- how long have you been on the Brintellix? There is nothing wrong with benzo drugs like Xanax if used as prescribed. It's better to have something like that on hand & to take than to make yourself suffer through a full blown panic attack. It gives your mind and body a break from the stress and that is a good thing.

Not for too long 2-3 weeks i guess ,I have heard xanax can cause suicidal thoughts but i need anti anxiety pill for sure ,making appt tomorrow with my psychiatrist .

can't deal with this anymore and he wants me to stop BRINTELLIX as my body seems to reject this drug .

Was your anxiety this bad before the Brintellix? I take Xanax daily right now and have off and on over the past 20 years and have never had one bad side effect. Maybe some extra yawning. And it absolutely chills out my anxiety and panic. Ask your doctor. It's so mild and so helpful. Wishing you the best!! You're going to be ok.

no ...never maybe mild anxiety at times .. but no panic attacks !Its all new world to me which is scary .

no symptoms before eating this SSRI.

Did you go on the Brintellix for depression?

I'm glad you're making the appt tmr. Sometimes it takes trial and error to find the right med. I had a popular AD that works well for a lot of ppl, cause me terrible anxiety too. I stopped it after a month. It happens. But you're not doomed. You'll get off of it and find one that works.

Hi Cilly,

You may want to ask your doctor about an antihistamine, used 'off label' for anxiety.

It has little side effects, is not addictive, and can be taken as needed.

Vistaril is one that you could ask your doctor about and consider.:)

You could also talk about a therapy referral while you are there, for the long term benefits it can bring.

Hi Cilly,
Just wanted to let you know that I have had antidepressants that have not settled well with me either. The first one was Wellbutrin. It caused me to have panic attacks.
I am sure you will find one that works for you as I did.
