Sorry to be MIA Everyboday!!

So my DH gave me two days (barely) warning that he had invited some people over, from work for today for a 'casual barbeque'.

He did not mention until yesterday...that it would be the VP, and two GM's from his company...and their families.

All told, we have 14 (6 adult 8 kids) at our house today that needed feeding and entertaining!!

It all went well...but I was pretty consumed for the last 24 hrs to say the least.

I am not a natural, easy going hostess that can roll with last minute improv stuff...

...I need planning time to feel ready and comfortable, so I am a little tapped out right now from pulling this all together fast.

Please excuse my absence...but I know that you all did great in supporting each other and welcoming new members like you always do!  :)

...and now I am going to sleep for about 3 days...LOL!! :p

Oh hell yeah, i hate surprise visits or last minute informing about an important plan. I need to prepare all well and i feel responsible. I totally understand how it feels.

But I am glad it went fine anyways. :)

You deserve a super-power cape too.

I go nutty when people just drop by, even people I like and enjoy, without any notice.

Come to think of it, even when people *do* give me notice, I'm much like you. I'm not one to fly by the seat of my pants and roll with it and improvise.

I think I'd have to sleep it off for 3 days too after that! Yikes!

Take your time wise one.....

We'll always be here when you're ready to return....

I was just kidding about sleeping for days...I'll be around!

We are going to pack up some leftovers and go on a picnic/hike on this beautiful Labor Day...
