Good morning folks,
just wondering difference between palpitations, pounding, raciness, are they all same or different.
I am wondering as mine might be heart issue rather than anxiety as even when i am not too anxious i get it.

Im not sure cilly, but I get them too at times. I can lay down on the couch for an hour, feel great, stand up and take 4-5 steps and my heart seems like its pounding. I been through almost every test heart wise and they always came back perfect. Matter of fact, the cardio doc asked after my treadmill test why i even thought i needed it, as i was healthy as a horse, in his words. I think its all subconscious. We're anxious and dont realize it. I dont get it either.

Good question Cilly. I get these sensations throughout the day where I can feel my heart beat at various points on my body ie my arm, leg, etc. I always wondered if these are heart palpitations, signs if high blood pressure or just everyday normal sensations that we get.

For me, I get what are called eptopic beats, or skipped beats. I'm generally not aware of my heart beat or if I am it usually doesn't bother me. The eptopics feel like my heart is trying to beat out of my chest for just one beat and then it's gone. A forceful beat is another way to put it. My doc explained that it happens after your heart skips a beat because the chambers fill with extra blood after a missed beat and on the next beat your heart has to push out the extra blood which gives the sensation of that forceful beat. Totally harmless. Hope that helps a bit.
