i have a daily report to do which my boss is teaching me. i hate it! i especially hate that i have to do it every day. so every day i have anxiety as i wait for him to arrive to help me. then i'm hyper vigilant about making mistakes. i just cannot seem to get the hang of it.

i have even tried studying it at home but that just made me more confused.

i do have a set of notes to use and try very hard to make them clear and easy to understand.

we are in the second week now of doing the report and i still haven't got it. this is making me very angry and frightened and frustrated.

i am having bad memories of other jobs with similar situations and also how i had to go to school every day as a child whether i wanted to or not.

please send me positive thoughts of understanding!

Sorry to hear you're having a difficult time. But I am willing to bet everyone of us have had to go through something similar at work (or at school for that matter) at one time or another.

Try to find comfort in that you are doing your best and that's all you can do. As a boss myself, I can only ask that my employees give me 100 percent effort and that's all I can ask for. Granted, I know it can be frustrating when you just don't "catch on" to something as quickly as you would like.

Keep studying and keep persistent! There's no doubt that you will eventually get it! And don't worry about looking silly in front of your boss. Trust me, if you are showing him that you are 100 percent focused and willing to learn then I promise you, he will be more than satisfied with you as an employee. Just always remember no matter how frustrated you get to always display a good attitude.

Rich you are having an anxiety block. You are so consumed with the thought of failing that you can't think straight. Try and pump yourself up- I think I can I think I can- like the train from an old childhood book I remember. I know you can do it! I believe in you Rich!

I am a teacher and I marvel at how kids can take their time learning a new skill. As adults, we expect ourselves to be perfect on the first or second try. We don't have the patience to keep trying until we get it right. In this forum, we keep getting told to have patience waiting for our new meds to kick in. The same goes for learning new skills at work. Go to work with a good attitude and try your best. I hope you have a good relationship with your boss. if you are still there after two weeks, you must be doing something right.
