Yep. You bet.
I got a book on World Geography. It's a colouring book. It *requires* (ie: asks the reader/user nicely) that one use a fine or ultra-fine tip marker, and not crayons or thick markers.
The plates are separated into regions, and the countries are listed alphabetically. So each name is written in large loopy letters which much be filled in. Then you move onto a map of the area and colour that country in IN that colour. Then you move onto a regional map where you outline the country in that colour and learn the terrain/towns/capital, etc.
There's also a "perspective map" where it uses the USA, and overlays the various regions being coloured/studied. So I can see relative perspective I can relate to and identify with.
So by using a tiny marker you're forced to go s-l-o-w.....you're forced to move slowly and cannot rush through. You must be mindful of borders and regions, the marks for capitals v towns are different and thus are coloured different.
It makes sense,.....not to mention, I'm (finally!!) learning about Geography!!
How cool is that? :)
