I just found out I was pregnant yesterday.............I have been taking Lexapro now for about two weeks....I have called my dr the past two days and left a message with him to let me know if I should keep taking this med or stop..i would only be about 5 weeks along....but I have heard horror stories online about taking this medicine and pregnancy...but have also heard its safe...ugh..why won't he call me back???....any advice on what to do????

I am almost 9 months pregnant with my third child and every time I found out I was advised to wean off whatever ssri i was on at the time..im pretty sure the only anti depressant safe to take during pregnancy is zoloft! thats what ive been told anyway by all of my drs.!

I wouldn't think it'd be good to be on any kind of medication like that when pregnant. But you need to talk to your doctor before trying anything because trying to get off of the medication alone, without doctors approval can be very dangerous. Keep calling and leaving messages and you will get a call back! And you're doing the right thing by being concerned and trying to make changes if necessary.

This is an exciting time...but it can also be filled with many concerns of course.

You are wise to check in with your doctor with this question. Is your doctor an OBGYN?

If not, you can call any OB and ask to speak with him/her...or their advice nurse.

A pharmacist is another person who you could check in with until you hear back from your doctor.

Wishing you the best all around in your pregnancy and continued anxiety management.

There are options that you can consider for a healthy, and happy pregnancy.:)
