Rr.,
Any new dicovery on our bodies that is strange or 'off' can cause us alarm! I understand.
I once went in because I was sure that I had a malignant growth on my ear....the reality? It was the start of a 'bed sore' from sleeping on one side too long. (I guess I am a sound sleeper and don't move around much!)
Another time, I was panicked about a lump I felt in my breast. When I went for examination, the doctor said I was feeling fibrous tissue...completely normal, but it felt more pronounced since it was right next to a rib that was pushing it forward. (I am thin and he said this can happen when there is not a lot of subdermal fat...things feel more pronounced.)
...so my point is that a lot of times we jump to the worst conclusion...when in reality, it is nothing to be concerned about.
Use your positive thinking, and don't 'fuss' the area, so that it can heal. Your dentist would have sent you for a referral/testing if he thought it was of any concern.
You are going to be fine.:)
