After carrying around the bottle of Lexapro for 2 months I finally started taking the meds 5 days ago. I'm only at .5 right now and I'm feeling minimal side effects. In fact my only complaint is my bowels are a bit messed up. I don't know if it's stress or the lexapro. I'm curious if anyone has had problems with their bowels on Lexapro?

Beth,
The majority of serotonin is produced in your gut, so I do believe most SSRI's will mess with your digestive system until your body becomes acclimated to them. Hope you feel better soon:)

Hello Beth....I've been on lexapro for about
2 weeks now and when I first started my bowels were not really that bad....I had a lot of nausea and a little increase in anxiety and just a little loss of appetite...side effects have pretty much gone away now...just a little anxiety in the morning's which is not bad
