I've had depression for years but never have any problems really with anxiety. This past summer I lost both of my parents barely 3 months apart, withy mom passing in May and my dad in August.
I have been seeing a therapist to help deal with everything. My psychiatrist thought it would be a good idea and I agreed. Now the past couple weeks I've developed some pretty bad anxiety. I've had a couple attacks, but even when I don't have an attack I'm still very anxious the majority of the time. My therapist was not surprised when I told her about it, she was wondering when it was gonna happen.
I saw my psychiatrist a couple weeks ago and she prescribed me Xanax to help me sleep at night, this was before the attacks started. I was supposed to go back to her on Monday but I had to reschedule to take my husband to the dr, he has ms and his having a flare. So I was supposed to go today and then got a call yesterday that she wasn't going to be in today and her first available isn't for 2 weeks. They did put me on a cancel list.
I have taken the Xanax when I have the attack or the anxiety gets bad and it calms me right down, but I really need to see the psychiatrist. I go back to my therapist on Tuesday. I called my therapist last night after I found out about my dr having to reschedule, because I was so bad, but it was later in the day and I haven't heard back from her yet. My husband was able to calm me down along with the Xanax.
