Yes and yes. We all experience anxiety differently. Some people have chest pains and some feels like that they are suffocating. The throat is not actually closing up but it feels that way. I have seen people having these type of attacks, breathe into a paperbag which helps them find a steadier breathing pattern.
Anxiety can cause shallow breathing. I can attest to this. But thank God for my deep breathing exercises!

Cilly,
My throat closed up the other night during a panicked moment. It was not fun, but it returned to normal within about
a minute.
Hope you're ok!!!

Oh good golly, absolutely! My voice even changes because my throat tightens up. It's all part of that lovely cocktail of what makes up anxiety. Fun, no? ;)
