Might I ask why you don't want to take medication?
So many people are hesitant about taking a medication that can really help them manage their anxiety and depression, and I am never sure why. They often say "fear of side effects." But, until the drug is taken, they do not have any idea of how they will be affected. It seems that the prospective benefit is far greater than the potential problems.
Other people will state that they prefer "all-natural," and don't want the medication, since it is man-made.
I guess I am always confused by people turning down a chance to feel better.
I found out in 2004 that I would be on medication for the rest of my life for Ulcerative colitis. I was seriously unhappy about this, at first. Then, after I saw how much better my life was after taking Asacol, I understood that if I stopped, the disease would come back.
It is a really hard thing to accept, and I really do respect that. You say you are having a hard time right now. I am sorry to hear that. What are you doing in terms of self-talk and coping mechanisms?
