My Poor Dad! (Might be MIA Here and There)

Hey family! ;)

My (step) dad is in the hosptial. :(

He has had some GI issues for some time.  They at first dx'd gastritis...but he ended up with fever and pain over the weekend and was admitted.

Turns out he had a gangreneous gallbladder!!  Good thing they got it out yesterday before he became septic!

He is 78...and pretty strong, but that would have been scary!

He is doing well...but my mom needs help of course...so I may be in and out for a few days here.  She does not drive much anymore, so my sister and I are tag teaming on taking her back and forth from the hospital...and there will be after-care at home to assist her with as well.

Please pray for a quick and full recovery for my pops!!

Hi SC! Sorry to hear that your stepdad is in hospital but I'm happy to hear that he's doing well. Hope he gets well soon. Good thing you and your sister can be there to be a support for your mom. Thinking of you all and will keep you in my prayers my friend. Take care and post as you can.

I am so glad they caught it in time! He sounds like a tough guy! :)
But he has a tough (step) daughter too! Hang in there! Know that y'all are being thought of!

Yeah...just went to see him and he is doing well!

Taking care of my mom too...she is having a hard time...I am actually more concerned about her at the moment.

She is anxious, confused and tired...so prayers for her too please!!

Thanks everyone!!!

He is coming home today...my sister and brother-in-law are getting him now..and I am helping get things ready at the house for his return.

My mom is really confused and agitated. She has early signs of Alzheimer's (yet to be officially dx'd) and the stress is doing a number on her.:(

This is really difficult. Thanks for your continued prayers.

Hello all,

First of all thank you, everyone, for the well wishes and prayers!!

I have hit a bit of a wall. Between helping take care of my dad...worrying about my mom...

...working, and dealing with everything at home (my husband is out of town again!)

...I am feeling pretty run down. I will be here as I can, but am needing to get rest when It's possible.

I have classses this morning, but will be back later today/this evening at some point.

Great job of taking care of eachother, and showing support!!
