Oh my gosh you guys. I'm freaking out. We are heading to my parents place in WI and it's pouring. I can't see. There's huge semis everywhere spraying up water so I can't see. I can't breathe. This is one of my big anxiety triggers. I would never travel in weather like this. My husband is driving though and he doesn't want to stop. I hate this so much. Why does it have to be raining? Travel is hard enough for me without having this to deal with too.

I understand how you feel. I used to be the same way and occasionally still am. My husband finally decided after years of me hitting the floor with my foot like I had a brake on my side of the car, throwing my hand up to the dash, grabbing the door and yelling "oh my God", that it was time I start driving and he would gladly sit in the passenger seat. lol I don't like to be in the passenger seat and not be in control of the car. I'm a stark raving lunatic. However, I must say that I am definitely better since I've been taking two meds for depression & anxiety.

I wish you safe travels and some relief from your anxiety. I know it is no fun.

I'm much the same way. To be frank, my vision is,...well,...it's kind of sucky to begin with anyway. Add to that a downpour and wipers that never move fast enough, or streak right in my line of vision, and cars determined to surf past me....yeah, uhm, no, not so much!

Perhaps pulling over, under a bridge, until it slows down a bit?

I hate it for you, MG. Wish there was something I could do when you're having these moments. : (

My mom always used to tell me that "this too shall pass" when I was down. It still brings me comfort to this day.

I, have to drive myself in that kind of weather. It sucks. I get so scared so I just slow down. Everyone is passing me like nothing is wrong.

I just don't understand how people drive so fast in bad weather.

Thanks everyone! I love all the support!! :) We arrived safely a couple of hours ago. Having dinner now. It cleared up once we got out of MN and into WI and the rest of the trip was uneventful. I even studied for a bit. Boy, do I hate that though. I'm still having some lingering anxiety/yucky feelings, but much better.

Thanks S.C.! Hahaha...no break from studying! Some family time/time away from the city will do me some good though!
