when to increase lexapro dosage

So last Sunday night I started lexapro at 2.5 ... when do I up to 5 mg ? Not really feeling much different ..

I am pretty sure that you could up your dose at any point. 5 mg is where the clinical grade of dosing starts. I think every person's response to Lexapro is different. Some may need only a small dosing, but others will not get a benefit until clinical grade dosing.

What symptoms are you trying to subdue with the meds?

I take it at night to help with sleep and I think that it's doing but don't know ...

Your prescribing doctor should be advising you on you increases. Give them a call a.s.a.p for guidance...or you can ask your pharmacist as well if you can't reach your doctor.

2.5mg is a small dose I agree with SC in that you should give your doctor a call and take their advice. I used to take Lexapro and found it to be a good medication I hope it works well for you.

most start on 10mg and increase to 20mg if needed and also have klonopin or a benzo to help along the way..This is the first time I have heard of 2.5

My Dr prescribed 10 mg and thinks I am nuts for starting at 2.5 lol. But I was scared so I was just curious if anyone else on here started lower and went up until the 10 mg

I am actually prescribed Lexapro and if I end up taking it, I plan to start at 2.5 because I am only prescribed 5 mg. have you had any start up symptoms?

We really can't advise you on an Rx increase...it is against forum rules.  Every docotor has a slightly different schedule for their patient to some degree. (although average time to increase is within a couple of weeks from starting the previous dose, approx.)

Please call your prescribing doctor tommorw for how to proceed and increase.;)
