Update on my Visit to Mayo

So you guys remember I had an appointment at Mayo at the beginning of the month that I had huge hopes for and it pretty much ended up being pointless. I was online today looking at my bill for that appointment and saw that they had my records and decided to read them. There was so much in there that was never said to me that it just really makes angry.

One thing that stood out was that he said that if the 60mgs of prozac don't do the trick that I should go up to 80mgs. This was NEVER mentioned to me. He also wrote that Xanax would be a good temporary help for me but I would need a higher dose. It said that he didn't feel I would have any issues with it. At the actual appointment he told me he was ambivalent about it at best and likened taking a Xanax to "taking a drink."

So here all along I was thinking that I shouldn't take the Xanax because of what he told me. Also I had no clue that I should go up to 80mgs of Prozac, he never ever mentioned it. He also wrote that if I did well at the 80mgs for six months that I should be tapered back down to 60mgs.

How the hell would I have known any of this if I hadn't happened to have seen it today? I didn't even know that they had these files online. I am VERY angry right now to say the least. I would expect this type of thing from my little rural hospital but from Mayo Clinic just no. Am I being stupid with this? I mean I went for a Psych Eval and had to read my diagnosis today online by accident?

Also wondering how long I should wait before I try to go up on the prozac or if I should at all?

Thanks Scaredy! I believe that the Mayo Dr said he would be sending my info from that day to my regular doctor so she should already have it.

I think what I'll do is give it another couple of weeks and see where I'm at. If I'm still feeling like this I will talk to my therapist and my doctor and see if they think it would be a good idea to increase the prozac or try something else. To be honest I'd rather just increase the prozac before trying anything else since I've been on it so long and sort of know how I react to it. I'm open to trying something else but I would definitely be afraid of getting worse.

I'm very angry and feel like I was brushed off at Mayo. It was a waste of my time and money. I'm just really glad I saw all of this information today.
