I feel that the risks are minimal with the inoculations...after all, you can read of as many possible risks with any OTC medication!
They must disclose even the rarest of reactions...including the few out of literally millions of people who have serious ones.
The
shot is a
deadened strain of the flu virus...whereas the
mist is a
weakened strain...
It is literally impossible to get the flu, from the flu shot. Those that do come down with the flu...claiming the shot 'gave' it to them are misinformed. They either got a different strain than they were inoculated for...or they had already been exposed to the flu, and the shot came too late to protect them. (immunity takes a few weeks to become effective)
Personally, I am more comfortable with the shot than the mist.
Just out of curiousity...why does your little guy want the shot? He must be brave! :)
(the shot itself does not hurt IMO...but afterwards my arm did get pretty sore this year!)
My daughter and I get flu shots every year, but of course this is a personal choice...you must decide what is best for you guys.
Best wishes in your decision,
