Hey, I've had those strange "leaning" feelings! Me too! I've always described them like it feeling from its origin, first as if someone is sucking my brain out through a straw and then from there, down, everything feels tilted.
On another note, if you're deconditioned and your trainer gave you a little too abrupt of a startle to your system with a new workout, it's absolutely and totally normal to be feeling wonky (official term) for up to 72 hours afterwards. So nope, all is well, you're not losing it!
I would mention this to your trainer, however, to maybe take things a little slower. Also be sure to do the homework they prescribe for you to do, on your own, in the gym, between that first appointment and all of your subsequent appointments. That 'between-appointment-time' is soooo crucial to minimizing those feelings you're describing going through right now!
I know, I know,....just add it to the list, eh? ;)
